How We Can Help

Initial Consultation
An Initial Consultation will give you the opportunity to decide whether counselling or psychotherapy is really for you. You will be able to meet with a therapist and get a sense of whether they’re someone you feel comfortable opening up to. It is a space where you and the therapist can think about whether they are the best person for you to work with. Here you’ll talk about your reasons for coming to therapy. It’s a good place for you to ask questions; particularly if you’re unsure of whether therapy is for you.

Counselling
Counselling takes place in a protected and supportive environment. One where you have the space to discuss what’s troubling you. It’s a place where you are listened to in a way that helps you to gain a deeper understanding of who you are. As well as how you come to be the person that you are today. Counselling is confidential, and it is unlike talking to family or friends. Mainly because your therapist is not personally involved in your extended world. They are specifically there for you. Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is an opportunity to explore your feelings in a private and protected space. Therapy generally takes place over a number of years. The relationship you build with your therapist will be a crucial part of the healing process. Patterns that happen outside of therapy, generally come into the relationship over time. This gives you a chance to explore them at more depth with someone who is trained to help you process and explore. Your psychotherapist will work with you to explore your inner world at deep level. This will usually mean taking a closer look at your childhood and how you show up in relationships. Find out more >

Clinical Supervision
In our work together we explore your professional relationships with patients, clients and service users. We also work with your process as well as giving some theoretical thought to support your practice. Inevitably, we all have gaps in our knowledge and lack awareness in some areas. Running into these can feel exposing and sometimes shaming. We’ll work together to help you explore these. And hopefully develop a protected, open, trusting and non-hierarchal relationship; that facilitates honest and ethical practice. Find out more >
